George Grills Assumes Post as Director of Core Facilities

George Grills assumed a post as Director of Core Facilities and Director of Advanced Technology Assessment on Febuary 1st, 2006. George has a distinguished history of work with Core Facilities. New Name and Enhanced Mission for Cornell's 20-year-old CAT

Ten-year funding commitments from the New York State Office of Science, Technology and Academic Research (NYSTAR) to programs at Cornell University, as announced June 30 by Gov. George E. Pataki, will help the university's basic-research and technology-transfer efforts in the life and material sciences to emphasize regional economic development, as well as business and job creation.

Governor Announces Designation of New High Tech Centers

Governor George E. Pataki today announced that ten universities in New York have been awarded newly designated Centers for Advanced Technology (CAT), part of an overall initiative to encourage greater technological and economic collaboration between New York State’s industries and New York’s research universities.
