Education & Training
The Center sponsors education and training opportunities that benefit a wide range of customers. These include:
- Summer Internship Placement: We subsidize summer internships for Cornell students to work in small biotechnology-related New York companies. For information on how to apply, for students or companies, see the Entrepreneurship@Cornell Program
- High School Equipment Lending Library: In collaboration with the Cornell Institute for Biology Teachers, state-of-the-art science laboratory kits and advanced instrumentation are made available to elementary and high school students. In 2006, the Equipment Lending Library served 6934 K-12 students and 448 teachers. See CIBT ( http://cibt.bio.cornell.edu)
- Support for the Presidential Life Science Fellowship awardees.
- On-Site Workshops: Hands-on training programs are designed to give exposure to DNA manipulation, technical instrumentation, and new techniques in biotechnology.
