Funding Opportunities
The 2009-2010 call for proposals is different from the past. The annual Center for Life Science Enterprise CAT awards will remain under the auspices of the Institute for Biotechnology and Life Science Technologies. The former Innovation Award program is not being carried forward. Please see the Nanobiotechnology Integrated Research Proposals at http://www.nbtc.cornell.edu . Instructions and forms for the CAT proposals are available below. The CAT funding awards require collaborative applied research and technology transfer with industry that will lead to quantifiable economic impact in New York State. We encourage new faculty to apply with projects that might be of future interest to industry and to collaborate with potential industrial partners when preparing the proposal.
CAT Awards: The Institute has been administering CAT awards through the Center for Life Science Enterprise for over 25 years. Multi-investigator proposals between scientists in different disciplines and between faculty in the Medical College and the Ithaca/Geneva campuses are especially encouraged. Priority will be given to those applications that involve a genuine collaboration with New York industry and which will have potential significant impact on the economic development in New York. The maximum dollar amount of CAT matching funds for a single investigator project is $50,000 per year. NYSTAR does not consider "in kind" cost sharing as a qualifying match.
Innovation Awards: The Institute will no longer offer Innovation awards.
