Description:
This is a liver section from a wild type mouse fed high fat diet for 70 days (40X Mag). Oil Red O stains lipids red, and nuclei and surrounding liver tissue are counterstained with hematoxylin and a prepared blueing solution called Scott's Tap Water. These images show extensive non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in the mouse due to a high-fat diet feeding.
