Ultima UG100 Sequencing

Ultima Genomics' UG 100 is a high throughput sequencer that replaces the standard flow cell with an open silicon wafer and a "flow-based," non-terminating chemistry that adds one base at a time across the whole surface. The UG100 enables an output of 10 to 12 billion reads per wafer at a cost of about $0.24 per million reads. Sequencing may be ordered for either ½ wafer (5-6 billion reads) or a whole wafer (10-12B). Importantly, the platform natively produces single-end reads only which are bioinformatically split into paired-end reads.  Additionally, standard Illumina-style libraries aren't natively compatible and must be converted, appending Ultima-compatible adapter sequences through an extra PCR step, before they can be sequenced on the UG 100 (service available for additional charge).
