Microsoft Remote Desktop - Instructions

Remote Desktop Connection for Windows

  1. Run Cisco AnyConnect. Connect using cuvpn.cuvpn.cornell.edu and click the Connect button.

  2. Select Two-Step_Login in the “Group” box. Type in netID@biotech.biotechvpn as the username and your netID password. In the DUO Passcode (push/sms/phone) box, enter the method you use to complete Two-Step Login:
    • push
    • phone
    • SMS to receive a new set of 7 digit passcode.
    • press OK.

  3. Type Remote Desktop Connection into the Start button in the lower left hand corner.

  4. Enter IP address of the workstation you would like to use.
  5. Log in with netID@cornell.edu and your netID password.
  6. Log in to BRC Login with your BRC account information and click “LOGIN”

  7. When you are done with your session, please LOG OUT. Otherwise we cannot tell that you have logged out.

Remote Desktop Connection for MacOS

Installing Microsoft Remote Desktop

  1. Install Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the Apple App Store.
  2. Click the plus (+) button to add a new desktop.
  3. Enter IP address of workstation under PC Name.
  4. This connection will be saved. Double click the PC name to begin remote desktop connection.

Connect to Workstation from Mac

  1. Run Cisco AnyConnect. Connect using cuvpn.cuvpn.cornell.edu and click the Connect button.
  2. Select Two-Step_Login in the “Group” box. Type in netID@biotech.biotechvpn as the username and your netID password. In the DUO Passcode (push/sms/phone) box, enter the method you use to complete Two-Step Login:

  3. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop.
  4. Log in with netID@cornell.edu and netID password to your saved workstation.
  5. Log in to BRC Login with your BRC account information and click “LOGIN”

  6. When you are done with your session, please LOG OUT. Otherwise we cannot tell that you have logged out.
