The workshop is hosted jointly by the BRC Bioinformatics, Genomics, and Flow Cytometry Facilities. It will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to long-read sequencing technologies
- Genome size estimation using flow cytometry
- Hands-on project: AI agent-assisted de novo genome assembly and genome annotation (The number of participants in the hands-on project are limited and will be provided with instructions for conducting the hands-on activities after the lecture portion of the workshop)
Format and Registration
The lecture (Jacob B Landis, Julie Sahler & Qi Sun) will be offered in person in Biotech B01 and simultaneously via Zoom. Zoom link will be sent out by email to registered users. The lecture will be recorded and made available online after the workshop.
Registration is required for participation in the hands-on project and the number of participants are limited. If you register for the waitlist, you will receive a zoom link and you are welcome to attend the lecture portion of the workshop.

- LC determines what the MS sees by controlling retention, selectivity, peak shape, matrix coelution, and retention-time reproducibility.
- Metabolomics: HILIC retention is critical for polar metabolites, enabling broad metabolite coverage and efficient dynamic MRM acquisition.

BioSlurm is a new Slurm-based computing cluster established by the BRC Bioinformatics Facility to support large-scale research data analysis. This workshop will introduce BioSlurm and demonstrate how researchers can use AI agents to perform data analysis on the cluster. The workshop will cover the following topics: BioSlurm cluster configuration and computing resources New BioSlurm subscription plans and access Basics of the Slurm job submission system Using AI agents to perform data analysis on BioSlurm The workshop will be offered via Zoom and will be recorded and made available online after the workshop.
