TeamViewer - instructions

Getting set up with TeamViewer (TV)

  1. Go to the TeamViewer website: https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/
  2. Try now for free.
  3. Download the desktop client.  (Do not use the web client!)
  4. Download the TeamViewer Full Client and do a default installation.
  5. Start the TeamViewer app.
  6. You must have a TeamViewer account.  Make one with your Cornell email address, then verify and trust your device.
  7. Contact BRC staff (BRC_imaging at cornell.edu) for instructions on how to join our TV account.

Logging on for the first time with TeamViewer (TV)

  1. Start TV app.
  2. If you are not signed in to TV, sign in.
  3. Add the remote workstation to your devices:

  4. Bookmark a device.
  5. Name it and provide the TV ID.

  6. Once you have the workstation in your device list, you can click on it.
  7. Click the connect button.
  8. Click the +Advanced button to enable Windows authentication, signing in with your NetID and password.  (You need the @cornell.edu part to specify the domain.)  If you don’t have the +Advanced button, you may have installed the wrong TV version

  9. If you have problems with the remote computer getting stuck, send a ctl-alt-del to the computer using the indicated icon on the TV taskbar.
