CAT grants

What are the CAT grants?

This competitive grant program provides funding to advance an early stage life science technology, moving it closer to commercialization.

The CAT grants for life science technology products are administered through the Center for Life Science Enterprise, a designated CAT hosted by the Cornell Institute of Biotechnology.

The CAT and its relationship with the Cornell Institute of Biotechnology is described in our CAT introduction page.

What kinds of projects are funded?

We encourage applications with innovative biotechnology projects that might be of future interest to industry, and that will lead to quantifiable economic impact in New York State.

We require a collaborative project between Cornell faculty researcher(s) and a New York State company.

We encourage faculty applicants to collaborate with their potential industrial partners when preparing the proposal.
