Science Olympiad

The Cornell Institute of Biotechnology is a proud sponsor of the Science Olympiad.

The Science Olympiad is a competitive tournament for middle school (division B) and high school (division C) students.

Each year, many events include life science and biotechnology categories: Both Division C and Division B include Anatomy & Physiology, Disease Detectives, Herpetology, and Water Quality. Division C also includes Heredity, while Division B includes Designer Genes.

Starting with nearly 300 regional and state tournaments, the event finishes with the Science Olympiad National Tournament, held at a different university each year. The Science Olympiad emphasize cross-discipline problem solving, and hands-on group participation around skills required in most scientific careers today.
